Aseem Srivastava

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at MBZUAI, UAE, working with Prof. Monojit Choudhury and Prof. Thamar Solorio. Previously, I did my PhD from IIIT Delhi, India, where I was advised by Prof. Shad Akhtar (FLaME Lab, IIIT Delhi) and Prof. Tanmoy Chakraborty (LCS2 Lab, IIT Delhi).

My research lies at the intersection of applied computational social science, psycholinguistics, and recently, sociolinguistics. My early works focused on using LLMs in the context of digital health, applying psycholinguistics to better understand social interaction behaviors and mental health in conversational systems. Recently, my interest has expanded to the study of culturality, exploring how LLMs can better understand and reflect cultural dynamics during social interactions.

Dec 2024: Our work on human behavior analysis for effective online support got accepted at PLOS ONE.
Sept 2024: Our paper on counseling summarization got accepted at EMNLP 2024 (Main Track).
July 2024: Our work on LLM benchmarking for counseling summarization is in JMIR Mental Health '24 now.

Feb 2024: Got invited to present a lightning talk and poster at ACM ARCS '24 in NISER.
Jan 2024: Got selected for Google Research Week 2024 second time in a row.
November 2023: Our proposal for a tutorial on dialogue system for counseling got accepted at ICON '23.
March 2023: Received Google Research Travel Award to present our paper at WWW'23 in Austin, USA.
Jan 2023: Our paper on counseling dialogue generation got accepted at WWW 2023.
Jan 2023: I will be attending Google Research Week 2023 in Banglore, India.
